Fathers Day at Lithia Artisans Market

I can’t think of a better place to find special something for dad than the Lithia Artisans Market. A handmade sports cap, a lathe turned fountain pen, a necklace of hand cut stone beads, an original photograph or painting — any of these would make a nice gift for fathers day.

Trace Taber of "Shadow Mountain Woodworks" specializes in hand carved wooden utensiles.

Everybody loves the carved wooden spoons, spatulas, and ladles made by Trace Taber of “Shadow Mountain Woodworks”. I’m a dad myself, and I use my wood spatulas every time I flip a steak on the barbeque. Trace is a gifted craftsman and one of the most productive artisans at the market. What many people may not realize about Trace is that he is a part time Sasquatch tracker. When someone thinks they have found evidence of Bigfoot’s existence, Trace is one of the folks who goes on location to document the findings. He works with the Bigfoot Field Researchers Organization (BFRO) which has a T.V. show running on Animal Planet called “Finding Bigfoot”.  He has worked on some 30 or so reports in the Southern Oregon/Northern California area over the last several years. Pretty cool stuff!

The weather looks like it might cooperate for us this weekend. The live music lineup is great. Here it is…

3:00 – 5:00      Heather Hutton

Sunday, June 19

Trace, I look forward to doing a more in depth interview with you later in the summer mixing your love of wood with your love of the mythical creatures that may dwell in the woods.
