Cooler temperatures, clouds, and some much appreciated rain has helped clear the air and quench the thirst of the drought weary Earth. Fall is upon us and the Lithia Artisans Market is full to capacity with locally created art, craft, and homespun music. 35 artisans are showing this coming weekend. Jewelry of all types… hand cut stone beads, delicate silver findings, fabricated metal, and more. Upcycled wool clothing, hats to keep you warm, nature photography, fine art, metal, wood work, and so much more to see, touch, and take home with you. Meet the artist, and support local, roots based economy!
This weeks featured artisan is sign painter Jan Rice. Jan creates signs to inspire, to welcome, to remind us of our most basic human goodness, to smile. From magnets that go on your fridge to signs announcing your business to the world. Jan does all her sign painting by hand. There are no stencils used, just years of practice and perfection. Her pieces are colorful and bright, playful and provocative. Everything in Jan’s booth is reasonably priced and accessible. Jan is also a stalwart member of the market, going above the call of duty on a regular basis to help the market prosper. Especially during the Holiday season, Jan comes through with signs to help announce the Holiday Market to the world. She is a good friend and helper, and as market manager, I really appreciate her help. Thank You! Come by and visit Jan this weekend as she is the artisan of the week.
We have a special guest coming through town this weekend. Cloudship is a new music duo touring the west coast presently, hailing from points further south, Fresno and Los Angeles, California. They came through back in spring and blew us all away. They have returned with their original tunes to entertain us once again this coming Saturday, Sept. 27 from 11-1.
