The Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland hosts 47 artists and craftspeople over the course of the upcoming weekend — Open this Saturday 10am-6pm and Sunday 11am-5pm. Creekside dining, live music throughout the weekend, and shopping the handcrafted wares of talented local artisans… what a wonderful way to spend the day after the Southern Oregon University Commencement Celebration at Raider Stadium. Pick up a beautiful piece of jewelry, fine art, woodwork, clothing, or any of a myriad of locally created art and craft.
This week we are featuring one of our newest artists at Lithia Artisans Market, Rachel Fisher. Rachel is the future… at 22 years young she has already found her style and is clearly following her passion. Her images are stunning. The more I see her paintings, the more I appreciate and admire her talent. Technically her pieces are impeccable; however, it is her wild color palate that really grabs my attention. Psychedelic watercolors swirl to create a vibrant background perfect for the totemistic animals depicted in unexpectedly rich saturations of playful color. Her specialty as of late is pet portraits done in her unique style. For more about Rachel’s pet portraits, click this link to go to her etsy shop… etsy.com/shop/rachelspetpaintings. Rachel is a regular at Lithia Artisans Market and her booth is so bold and colorful that it will grab your attention. Stop by and say hello and support local art, craft, and music.
