The Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland (LAMA) is a non-profit organization of artists and craftspeople whose members mostly reside in Southern Oregon and Northern California. The Market strives to be a community of members that enhances the experiences of visitors to Ashland by providing a festive, positive, and engaging atmosphere of creativity.
LAMA invites participation by individuals who have achieved and take pride in a level of professionalism in their art/craft. It also encourages artists and craftspeople who have a distinct quality and/or uniqueness in their work to apply for membership. Members are given the flexibility to show one or both days of any weekend during the Market season which begins mid March and runs through October (or mid November weather permitting) of every year. There are no minimum number of show days required for membership.
Participation in Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland involves an initial jury process by which prospective members present samples of their work to the Jury Committee. There is a Jury fee (currently non-refundable $25). The membership fee is annual. The current yearly membership is $65, or $75 if paid after May 1st. Membership renewal is annual; no re-jurying is required unless the artwork has changed. Those details are explained further in the Jury Guidelines. Upon acceptance to LAMA the new member is should familiarize themselves with the Artisan Handbook which has detailed information about procedures regarding participation. Jury Committee Meeting Dates for 2017 (always on Thursdays, in the Guanajuato Room, downstairs at the Ashland Public Library, from 5:00 – 7:00pm unless otherwise stated.) You must call to set up and appointment. You cannot just drop in to the meeting. Call the Market Manager, Marcus 541 301-9811.

Get there before 5pm as the Library closes at that time. If you get there past closing, then use the back door at the library and ring the buzzer that says, “Guanajuato Room buzzer”.

The Jury Guidelines describe the criteria set forth by which the individual crafts are judged. Be sure your craft meets the criteria before calling the manager to arrange to be at a meeting.
