This is the fullest market we have had all season. 43 artisans are signed up to participate this weekend.  A great shopping experience awaits behind the plaza, creek-side in downtown Ashland, Oregon. Handcrafted goodness abounds on Calle Guanajuato, a magical walkway full of lapidary artists, potters, painters, yarn spinners, photographers, clothing designers, and so much more. Stroll the cobbled alley, enjoy lunch at any of the fine restaurants along the way, and peruse the locally crafted wares displayed throughout the many colorful booths.

As we make our way through this classic southern Oregon spring, thick clouds linger, the crisp morning air requires us to dress in layers. It is breezy today, but the forecast is for a beautiful weekend with highs gradually making their way up to 80 degrees by Sunday.

Today, I find myself gazing up at the mountain side. The color purple blends with the greens and browns of our Grizzly Mountain, the Payne Cliff formations break up the vegetation. It is a beautiful and ancient view. Looking out at such nature makes it easy for me to imagine simpler times, simpler tools, and simpler methods of living; simplicity that is often lacking in our modern, high paced reality.

The Lithia Artisans Market is an art guild that ranges from highly motivated young talent to seasoned artisans. Many of us venture back in time with our artistic endeavors and re-learn how to use simple tools and methods; honing the skill sets that allow our imagination to take over. From that place of knowledge we are able to manifest the ideas and concepts that we can see in our mind.

Come out this weekend and see all the artisans have to offer, listen to some live music, and enjoy a sense of community in downtown Ashland.

Hollis Peach, featuring Danny and Jacqui will play for us at the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland. Sunday from 12-3pm.
