The Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland is running at full capacity this weekend with 40 local artists and crafty folk showing their authentic creations along Ashland Creek on Calle Guanajuato. Witnessing so many artists making a living with their art is inspiring. In the 21 years I have been a part of this market, I have never seen so many artists demonstrating their craft while at the market. Erin Linton (shown in the photo) is constantly painting images of birds and unique wildlife. Erin is passionate about her art and her subject matter. She nurses injured birds back to health as part of her volunteer work with Badger Run, a wildlife rehabilitation center in Klamath Falls. Her art business is called Orphan Girl Art, the orphans are the baby birds she care tends until they are ready to be reintroduced into the wild. Her art is beautiful!

This weekend the market is featuring photography, woodwork, jewelry of all kinds, clothing, fine art, pottery, hats, tie-die t-shirts, body care products, hand made soap, copper art, native American style drums, and so much more. All of the items shown at the market are made locally by the people showing. You owe it to yourself to check out the local artisan scene in downtown Ashland, behind the plaza. The Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland has been here since 1983, over 30 years of art along the creek. The market is open every weekend from mid-March through October — Saturday 10:00am-6:00pm and Sunday 11:00am – 5:00pm.
