We are grateful to the firefighters fighting the Milepost 97 fire near Canyonville, Oregon. Over 1500 firefighters are working on the 13,000 acre fire just 90 miles north of us on I5. They have the fire 35% contained as I write this, we wish them god-speed in their efforts. Big thanks from the Lithia Artisans Market!

OPEN SAT 10-6 AND SUN 11-5

In honor of the firefighters I am featuring an image of our local glass blower Scott Carlson working with his buddy Dave in his shop in Phoenix, Oregon. I thought the image fitting, and the closest I could think an artisan and firefighter come in terms of the elements at hand. There is obviously nothing that tops firefighting in terms of pure face to face danger. With that said, hanging out with Scott in his shop helped me understand better the allure of fire and how it changes things dramatically.

The artisans market is full again this upcoming weekend, August 3 and 4. 37 artisans are signed up to participate. Handmade hats, jewelry, glass, woodwork, pottery, fine art, photography, and much more will be on display on Calle Guanajuato in downtown Ashland, Oregon.

Join us for live music, handcrafted goodness, and dining along Ashland Creek. Discover Ashland’s hidden gem of an artisans market. Behind the plaza where Lithia Park and the downtown meet.
