How quickly the weather patterns can change in southern Oregon. We have 25 vendors signed up for the weekend market, but the forecast is showing rain on Saturday, nice on Sunday. What a major contrast from last weekend to this one. So, here is how we do this on days that look like rain… we wake up and assess it the morning of the show. If it is raining, or looking like a full day of miserable weather I will cancel the market for the day. If it is cancelled I will announce that through our facebook page (facebook.com/lithiaartisansmarket). However, I always keep an optimistic thought in my mind. If enough of us think sunny, pleasant thoughts, maybe we can change the patterns to our benefit. Also, if enough vendors show up prepared to hunker down and deal with the possibility of rain, then we will still have a market. I’ve witnessed that rainy days can be great days for making a living.
I spent the week working on an interview with our own Stephanie Gould. She is multi-talented, creating a beautiful line of bead-woven jewelry, and another line of body care products. Walking into her booth is like going into two completely different stores. Like most of us, Stephanie has a real passion for the work she does with her hands.
