Another full market weekend… 43 creators of cool stuff showing at the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland (LAMA). This weekend you will discover handcrafted woodwork, jewelry, clothing, fine art, photography, weavings, metal sculpture, carved stone, and so much more. Everything you see is made by the person selling it.
This is the local economy at it’s purest. When we support local, the dollars pass among us over and over again. A strong local economy is part of the key to a strong national and international economy. Support local whenever you can. It really does make a difference.
We are happy to welcome back some of our members who have been out on long show circuits. This weekend we welcome back jewelers Sabine Collings, Dan Clark, Karen West, Holly Gonnella, and Diane Berry. What an all-star lineup of jewelry makers this weekend. No better place to find that perfect something to remember a special moment, or a precious someone. Stones set in silver, cut by hand, displayed in all manner of styles, colors, textures. A great time to visit your local market and see some really beautiful jewelry.
We are also super strong this weekend in the clothing department. Welcome back Heidi Carlson with her hemp designs, and Jasmine Patten with her up-cycled skirts and clothing accessories. You have both been missed.
New artists Billy King and Mattie Morton will be showing this weekend. Billy designs and screen prints t-shirts with a positive message. Mattie is a new clothing designer who works only in natural dyes. She makes very different and fashionable hemp clothing. She hails from Colorado, but has recently moved to the southern Oregon area. Welcome both of you.
Both Alissa Clark and Lisa Eldredge are back to the market for the first time in awhile. Our pottery scene has not been the same without them in our midst. Alissa comes rarely as she has moved to Florence, Oregon. If you love her stuff like I do, then this is your chance to see her this summer. Who knows when she will be back. Lisa was out on the road the last couple weeks at the Bend Summerfest. I say, “welcome home potters!”
It is a weekend full of new and old with lots of changes from last weekend to this. Just another beautiful weekend in paradise. Hope to see y’all out and about.
