36 artisans are signed up to show this upcoming weekend. It is gonna be hot, but not as hot as it has been. Mid-90’s is really not bad for the end of July. Besides, it is always cooler down by Ashland Creek at the Lithia Artisans Market.
This weekend you will discover hand crafted goodness of all kinds at the market. Locally created items that come from the heart and pass through the hands of some of the most innovative folks I know. Sterling and stone jewelry, hats from the Hat People, dichroic glass pendants, rugged yet stylie outdoor fashions from “Sick Day Gear”, hand pounded copper bowls, woodwork of all kinds, quilted pillows, up-cycled record album covers, dream-catchers, painted silk, leather work, fine art, photography, and so much more. Calle Guanajuato will be full of wonderful creations. You get to meet the makers and use your purchasing power to bolster the local economy. Think global, support local.
Featured in the photo above is Rose Gerstner of Sympatico Clothing. Rose is a long time member of our guild of artisans. She is also the President of the Board of Directors for the market. We at the market owe her a huge debt of gratitude for her leadership and her discipline. She has done a great job of keeping the rest of the board on task and motivated. She is tough but kind. Good qualities of a leader. She is also a fantastic clothing designer and meticulous seamstress. Her booth, Sympatico Clothing, is one of the most professional booths you will find at any art and craft show on the west coast. We are honored to call her a friend, a comrade, and Mrs. President. Thanks Rose!
