Once again this season we are looking at a weather forecast that will have us dodging raindrops throughout the weekend. Let’s see what happens if we all collectively think sunny thoughts. No matter the weather, we currently have 31 artisans signed up to participate at the art market along Ashland Creek.
Things can change quickly depending on the weather. Sometimes we don’t know until the day of the show if weather will force us to cancel the market. If we cancel the market we always announce it on our facebook page (click here to link).
OPEN SATURDAY 10-6 and SUNDAY 11-5
This upcoming weekend you will discover all kinds of cool, handcrafted items at the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland (LAMA). Wildlife photography, fine art, jewelry, sculpture, stone carving, woodwork, hats, collage, felted scarves, hand painted silk, clothing, body care products and so much more will be on display in individual art booths neatly nestled on Calle Guanajuato.
The featured photo above is of Holly Gonnella. Holly is a veteran of open air art markets throughout the pacific northwest. Hailing from our big sister city in the north, Portland, she showed many seasons at the Portland Saturday Market before making southern Oregon her new home. Originally a potter and fine artist, Holly transitioned into jewelry fabrication less than a decade ago. She took right to the medium and has quickly evolved into a fantastic jewelry designer and fabricator. Each piece is made at the torch, annealing and bending metal, soldering joints, and building from scratch. She has been out of the market for a short while… healing after an accident. We welcome her back with wide open arms.
