Happy Fathers Day Weekend! It is a great time to take Dad for a walk in downtown Ashland and come upon the perfect Fathers Day gift, then grab lunch along the creek. As a dad myself, I can tell you that many of us would love a new coffee mug, a wooden cutting board, a sculpted manzanita cribbage board, or a leather necklace featuring locally cut and polished stone beads. This is just a handful of gift ideas, amongst the multitude, found this weekend at Ashland’s outdoor marketplace… the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland (LAMA).

This week the featured artisan is local woodworker Bruce Kramer. Bruce has been part of the market since way, way back in the day. I was talking with him a week ago as he recalled being a part of the market when it was simply called Ashland Saturday Market. He couldn’t recall the exact year, but my guess is that was sometime in the late 1980’s. He makes fantastic cutting boards. I own one and use it daily. As Bruce points out, take care of the board and it should last you a lifetime. His boards are quality items made by a master woodworker who has perfected his skills over decades of practice. His cutting boards are accessible to anyone as his prices are very reasonable.

Come out and join us along the creek to cool down and peruse the authentic, hand crafted wares offered at the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland. Open Saturday from 10am-6pm and Sunday from 11am-5pm. This is gonna be a lot of fun!
