41 artisans will be showing at the Lithia Artisans Market this upcoming weekend. Great music by Phoenix Sigalove, Rod Petrone, and The Brothers Reed. We are rolling into summer. Solstice passed under a full moon. The Inlakesh Festival is happening this weekend at the Jackson Wellsprings. While you are in town doing yoga, watching one of many plays, engaged in a lecture on psychedelics, or dancing to music of The Ancient Wild, come on by the Lithia Artisans Market in downtown Ashland. We are tucked away behind the plaza, along Ashland Creek, plying our wares on Calle Guanajuato. This weekend you will find jewelry, hand pounded copper and silver, wood working, leather, fine art of all kinds, photography, hemp clothing, drums, body care products, hats, painted silk, pottery, and so much more. Southern Oregon’s original outdoor marketplace.
We had our second to the last jury committee meeting of the season on Thursday, June 23rd. It was a great meeting and we now have four brand new members at the Lithia Artisans Market. One of our newest members was a guild member from way back in the late 1990’s. Cheryl Frances is a mixed media folk artist. She will be participating this upcoming weekend at our market. Over the past twenty years she joined the Peace Corp, served her duty, and then returned to being a full time artist. She just moved back to the area from Austin, Texas. I really love her whimsical style. Come by and say “welcome back” to Cheryl Frances.
Featured in the photo above is Marta Quest. Marta joined the market about four years ago. She makes wonderful Native American style drums and paints the hides with animal totems and other colorful, iconic images. Her drums are wonderful. Come by and try one out for yourself.
Support the local artisan scene and enjoy the beginning of summer. Join us down by the creek.
