It is gonna be a hot weekend, but a stalwart contingent of artisans will be holding down the fort along Ashland Creek at the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland. 25 artisans are signed up to participate this weekend. Hand sculpted manzanita cribbage boards, hand built pottery, carved stone beads, bench worked sterling silver, upcycled clothing, fine art and much more will be on display at this unique outdoor marketplace located along Calle Guanajuato.

The photo above was part of a fun series of images I shot of my good friend Alissa Clark. This is her letting me know the photo session needs to end soon. She cracks me up! Alissa is one of the hardest working artisans I know. She has been a big part of the Lithia Artisans Market for about a decade. Her whimsical, hand built pots are each unique and playful. Alissa is amazing… a heart and soul full of creativity. Her coffee mugs bring a smile to your face. Come by and see her art-form on display throughout the upcoming weekend.  Here is a link to her etsy site…  etsy.com/shop/alissaclarkclayworks.

Jim Young and Marcus Scott with Streetcar Named Inspire, Lithia Artisans Market, Ashland, Oregon

Jim Young of The Hat People and Marcus Scott of The Stone Bead hanging out in The Streetcar Named Inspire. Weekends at Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland, Oregon.

A Streetcar Named Inspire will be making its debut at Lithia Artisans Market this weekend. She will be placed in a spot across from the entrance to Lithia Park, in the Ashland City Parking Lot… affectionately called “The Village” by the resident artisans that make that space their home on the weekends. Melissa Orion is new to the market this year selling her fine art pieces as prints, pillows, magnets, prayer flags and more. She will be curating the Streetcar Named Inspire as a weekend art gallery. Various artisans will be showing in and around her Streetcar Gallery throughout the season. The Streetcar is a replica of a vintage trolly. Melissa has been hard at work with her friends to spruce it up, give it a new coat of paint, and make it part of the downtown art scene in Ashland as a part of the Lithia Artisans Market.  Come down to the market this weekend, dip your feet into the creek to cool down, visit the Streetcar and peruse the many fine, locally created art and craft at Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland (LAMA).
