The weather looks perfect and the artisans are hitting full stride as we come into the fourth month of the season. Outdoor activities abound in southern Oregon and the market is a big part of those happenings.
OPEN SATURDAY 10-6 AND SUNDAY 11-5
Feast of Will is tonight, Friday, June 7, at 5:45pm in the lower part of Lithia Park. This has been an Oregon Shakespeare Festival tradition since 1956. It is a time to celebrate the beginning of summer and the traditional beginning of the outdoor theater season. The market is honored to be a part of the cultural scene in downtown Ashland.
Featured in the photo above is our most veteran member of the Lithia Artisans Market, Jim Young of the Hat People. Jim and Carol have been making hats for over 4 decades. They started their artisan career back in the 70s. Back then they would travel to Eugene and sell out of their Volkswagen Bug at the Saturday Market. Always evolving, Jim introduced his newest hat, the Leaf Corp hat, just a few years ago. It is a really cool sun visor. They make wool hats, cotton hats, newsboy caps, and much more. They are the Hat People of Talent, Oregon. We are so happy to have them on board with us at the Lithia Artisans Market.
Join the Hat People and another 45 artisans this weekend at the outdoor art market on Calle Guanajuato, The market is located behind the plaza, along the creek in downtown Ashland, Oregon. You will discover all sorts of artfully crafted items created right here in our region. Support local, it makes a huge difference.
