Dave Summers creates amazing leather-work at the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland, Oregon (LAMA).
47 artisans are signed up to participate this upcoming weekend. This is our largest market showing since 4th of July Weekend. This Labor Day weekend we are open for business Saturday, Sept. 3rd, from 10-6 and Sunday, Sept. 4th, from 11-5. A bunch of our folks who were at other shows last weekend are back for this last holiday weekend of the summer.
This weekend you will discover all kinds of unique handcrafted jewelry, clothing, fine art, woodwork, pottery, sculpted copper and stones, mobiles, hand-spun wool, folk art, photography, soaps and body care products, bees wax candles, dream catchers, and much more. We even have a couple of traveling vendors joining us from Mexico and Puerto Rico.
The market is located behind the plaza in downtown Ashland, Oregon. Outdoor dining is also available on this wonderful creek-side walkway known as Calle Guanajuato.
Featured in the photo above is a long time member of the Lithia Artisans Market, Dave Summers. Dave does exceptional leather work and makes a variety of well tested products. His business is called The Leather Vine. His hand stitched leather boots are the most comfortable footwear you will encounter. He takes great pride in his creations and you can really see the quality in his work. I own a pair of his shoes and one of his backpacks. I can say they are both awesome items that will likely last a lifetime and beyond.
The weather looks super inviting this weekend with forecast high temperatures in the mid to upper 70’s. Fall is just around the corner and it is a welcome respite from the heat of the last couple weekends. It is a great time to come out and visit the Lithia Artisans Market, Ashland’s original outdoor weekend market along Ashland Creek, on Calle Guanajuato.
