Once again the Briscoe ArtWing comes to life with the sound of live music, a festive atmosphere, and 30 of our finest local artisans. Art and craft created locally by the hands of our friends and neighbors. The artisans of the summer artisans market on Calle Guanajuato fill the halls and the rooms of the old Briscoe Elementary School, 265 North Main, on the corner of Laurel Street. Directly across Laurel Street from the Methodist Church, just four blocks north of downtown Ashland on the Main drag. Holiday Market takes place every weekend in the month of December leading up to Christmas. Open Saturdays from 10am – 6pm and Sundays from 11am-5pm. The market will also be open on First Friday, December 6th, from 5-8pm.
Over 30 artisans will be at the event every weekend selling their handcrafted wares. Jewelry, metal work, glass, wood work, clothing, hats, scarves, weavings, candles, handmade soap, English toffee, hand cut stone beads, leather work, whimsical pottery, enchanted dolls, jams and jellies, plants, food, woolen products, and much more. This is an eclectic mix of amazing gift ideas all under one roof. Did I mention there will be locally made chocolates and truffles? Yum!
Many have called the Briscoe ArtWing Holiday Market the most cozy holiday bazaar of the season. I would agree with that sentiment. It feels like family and friends getting together to hang out and celebrate life, community, and the season of giving. What a blessed life. What a wonderful opportunity during this season of giving to support your local artisans, your local musicians, your local businesses. Money spent locally with small and micro businesses stays in the local economy and we all benefit.
Come on out to the Briscoe ArtWing these next three weekends and celebrate the spirit of the Holidays with your local artisans and musicians. The event is free to the public. Saturdays from 10-6 and Sundays from 11-5.
