Sorry about the late blog posting, this week has been a challenge for all of us living in southern Oregon. Our prayers go out to the brave men and women out on the front lines of these wildfires as they battle to gain control. The air quality has been awful the last few days in Ashland and beyond. The Elizabethan Theater (outdoor theater) closed for a couple of days, and Britt Festivals moved temporarily to an indoor venue. The leadership of the market had many phone meetings to determine whether the market would open this week. After much deliberation, we are open for business!
Last evening I was relieved to be able to see Grizzly Peak across the valley. This morning I awoke and the air didn’t smell like a campfire. Today the air quality was pretty good. Tonight I went out to First Friday in Ashland and the mood of the people was positive, the air was fresh, it felt like a reprieve.
We have 28 vendors signed up to participate this coming weekend and great live music for your listening pleasure. So, if you haven’t escaped the valley, or you are here on a visit, remember to come out and support local art, craft, and music.
