We are so thankful to the community for coming out in support of our local artisans market. Last weekend was our first time back out since the pandemic began. Things are a little different for sure, but it felt nice to be back on Calle Guanajuato. Every weekend we hope to grow the market, little by little. Thank you for your continuing support, it makes all the difference. Trust me, we can feel the love. Gracias.

OPEN: SATURDAY 10-3 and SUNDAY 10-3

Remember folks, when you are interacting with the artisans please respect the 6 foot social distancing, and we encourage the use of a mask. Our vendors have to wear face coverings, it is required by the state. Might as well have fun with it! Every weekend can be like Halloween. You now have a great excuse to go incognito with a cool face covering.

Our good friend Kris Daly is featured in the image above. Kris has been a member of the market of a long time. She is a gifted seamstress, and when the pandemic hit she took to making cloth masks. The demand was high, and still is. She makes her masks double cotton layered with a pocket to put in a filter if you so desire. They are functional and fun and super reasonably priced. She has a wide assortment of sizes and patterns. Come see her early, last weekend she sold out! She assures me she is well stocked again.

Last weekend a customer asked if I had a list of the artists who are showing. Here is a list of the hardy creators and fine artists who are showing this upcoming weekend, June 27 and 28.

Erin Linton of Orphan Girl Fine Art

Rachel Souders of Alasse Fine Art

Larry Shinerock of Creative Woodwork

Dan Elster of Elster Photography

Michelle VanFleet of Faerie Mysterium

Luciene Cruz of Tropical Dresses

Mabrie Ormes, fine artist

Dennis Christlieb with wooden boxes and cutting boards

Dave Meltzer of Pop Pop’s Woodwork

Marcus Scott of The Stone Bead

Anna Bloomquist with her new line of pottery

That is our small but mighty crew of artisans who are showing up for the weekend. Now more than ever is a great time to use your purchasing power to support local. In one trip to Downtown Ashland on a Saturday morning you can visit the Rogue Valley Growers Market and the Lithia Artisans Market. Support locally grown food and locally crafted wares all while hanging out in the beautiful space of Downtown Ashland and Lithia Park. Located within one block of each other, Growers Market is on Oak Street and the Artisans Market is on Calle Guanajuato — behind the plaza buildings along Ashland Creek, across from the entrance to Lithia Park.

It looks like a wonderful weekend to peruse the artisans market and see what is new. Creekside dining is now open along the Calle and the space down by the creek is as inviting as ever. Come wonder through the market, you just might discover a treasure you have to purchase and take home with you. Please remember to ask for permission before touching the handcrafted wares. Thank you.

We practice social distancing. Distance is kind, six feet is love. Don’t forget your mask!
