The Lithia Artisans Winter Market is open this upcoming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, November 27 – 29, 10:00am-3:00pm each day. In lieu of our traditional Christmas Faire at the Historic Ashland Armory, we are joining the Festival of Lights in Downtown Ashland in our normal outdoor location on Calle Guanajuato and in lower Lithia Park along Winburn Way.

This season we are giving thanks for the opportunity to be open during these challenging days of the pandemic. The artisans are spaced out and abiding by protocols to keep us all safe. Please be masked up when engaging with the artists, it is part of the new mandates from the State of Oregon. It is common courtesy and it keeps us all safe… we get to stay open. We appreciate your cooperation.

Watercolor Artist Lori Agnew created the art for our Winter Market poster this season.

More than 20 artists are participating this upcoming weekend at the Winter Market. Discover unique, one-of-a-kind gifts created by talented local folks.

The poster art this year (see above) was provided by our very own watercolor artist Lori Agnew. This was one of the easiest poster projects to coordinate because the original piece of art was so perfect. The graphics committee was thrilled when we discovered this little fox looking up at the fireflies, magical. Lori will be joining us this weekend with her booth full of original art, prints, and cards. Her art always brings a smile and warms the heart.

Silversmith Dan Clark will be in front of Lithia Park with his booth of hand-cut and polished stones in perfect sterling silver bezels. Wonderful bits of nature framed as small pieces of art. You will find him tapping away at his anvil, working in the cold to bring out the beauty in the stones.

Kris Daly has been busy making more quilted pillows and cotton face masks after losing her home and studio to the Almeda Fire. Perseverance and the determination help make the best of any situation. Kris told me, “I choose to be happy”. Even in the midst of tragedy, she chooses to rise to the occasion. She will be showing this weekend near the Calle Guanajuato mural under the bistro lights. We are so happy to have her back.

Leah Fairbanks has been a steadfast member of the artisans market throughout the 2020 season, rarely missing a day. She is a master in the world of lamp-worked glass beads and baubles. Her pieces are exquisite and accessible. Her husband, Derek Lusk, creates pendants from jaspers and precious stones. Amazing craftwork by this dynamic duo who are full time artisans.  They are a great family and wonderful addition to our guild.

During these challenging times it is important to continue to hold each other up. Keeping space between us right now is how we show brotherly love. Supporting local small business is more important now than ever before. So many small businesses are struggling to survive these days. Spend a little of your holiday gift money at the local artisans market. Handmade by your friends, neighbors, family. Mask-up, respect distance, support one another, love.

Winter Market starts this coming Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, 10:00am-3:00pm, along Calle Guanajuato and Winburn Way in the front of Lithia Park in Downtown Ashland. We hope to see many of you out and about during these chilly weekends. It is a beautiful time of the year in Lithia Park.
