This upcoming weekend we have 21 local artisans signed up to sell their handcrafted creations at Ashland’s own outdoor marketplace, the Lithia Artisans Market. We are all keeping an eye on the weather as Saturday looks potentially wet. It is rare to actually cancel the market, but sometimes it happens. If we cancel we will announce that on our facebook page.

OPEN SATURDAY 10:00-6:00 / SUNDAY 11:00-5:00

The market is open every weekend from now until the end of October and is located on Calle Guanajuato, along the creek in downtown Ashland. This weekend you will discover fine art, photography, jewelry, pottery, woodwork, leather, clothing, and much more. Every vendor selling at the artisans market makes their products locally by hand.

The image above features the amazingly detailed lamp-worked glass beads of local artisan Leah Fairbanks. She creates her art with an ease and grace that is only achieved through years of work and patient practice. She has achieved a true mastery of her craft.

There is something very cool about knowing where the things we purchase originate. Putting a face and a story to the maker of those items creates a connection that brings us all a bit closer. Supporting local art, craft and music feels right; it is good for the soul.

Blades of Grass plays live music at the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland (LAMA).
