Lithia Artisans Market is located at the hub of downtown Ashland, along the creek, adjacent to Lithia Park. Every weekend you will find creative souls like Amy Goddard-Navickas. Amy is an art educator with a background focused on the Waldorf school system. Creativity and connection to place are second nature for Amy. She is another of those multigenerational locals; Amy’s great-grandfather served on the Ashland City Council in the years gone past. There are so many of us artisans at the market that are connected to this place in more ways than you might think. The things created by these local hands touch the history and connection to this place, the Rogue Valley. It is such a gift to spend our weekends behind the once forgotten alley we now call Calle Guanajuato, listening to the babbling creek, selling the things we have created with our own two hands. Amy is an outstanding addition to the Lithia Artisans Market. Her puppets each have a life of their own, her prints connect us to the earth, her skincare salves really work and help us preserve our greatest tools… our hands. We honor the artist in each of us, and this week we honor our good friend Amy Goddard-Navickas — a true renaissance woman, and an artist in the very best sense of the word.
Once again the market is jam packed, just the way we like it! 42 artisans will be showing on Calle Guanajuato this coming weekend — Saturday 10-6 and Sunday 11-5. Pottery, jewelry, carved stone beads, upcycled clothing, fine art of all kinds, wooden cutting boards, tie-die t-shirts, body care products, sculpted manzanita cribbage boards, hand made soap, Native American style drums, and so much more. You owe it to yourself to come out and support the local, handmade art and craft scene. Wonder awaits across from Lithia Park on the meandering cobble stone path called Calle Guanajuato. Art, craft, and locally created music. What a gift!
