45 artisans are signed up to participate over the course of the upcoming weekend, May 25 and 26, which is our biggest showing of the year. The weather forecast is a question mark these days. Prepare for rain, but think sunny thoughts. Looking at what is happening in other parts of the country, we are thankful for our current weather pattern.

OPEN SAT 10-6 AND SUN 11-5

We will not be open on Monday the 27th as we recognize the day in our own private ways. Memorial Day is a day to honor the fallen soldiers. In gratitude, my prayers are to see a world beyond war where such sacrifice is no longer necessary.

Featured in the photo above is wildlife photographer extraordinaire Dan Elster. Dan is a veteran Lithia Artisans Market member. A native of Chicago, Illinois, Dan and his wife Patty fell in love with the Ashland area during a country wide tour 15 years ago. In 2006 they permanently moved to Ashland where they have raised their two children, Forest and Savannah, and Dan’s career as a wildlife photographer has blossomed. Next Friday, May 31st, he has an book release party at the Ashland Art Center featuring his first photo book, Wild Animals in Wild Places. The book is stunning and full of  Dan’s favorite subjects, the wildlife of our region. The event starts at 6:30pm and features the music of Aaron Reed. Wild Animals in Wild Places will soon be available for purchase at the Lithia Artisans Market when Dan is exhibiting his work.

Join us this weekend and you will discover jewelry, fine art, clothing, woodwork, leather, carved stones, sculpture, body care products, photography, fiber art, and much more. Keep thinking those sunny thoughts!
