There are 30 artisans signed up to participate this upcoming weekend at the Lithia Artisans Market. We all survived the storm last weekend. Feels like we dodged a bullet, not everywhere was so lucky. Gratefully sending good vibes to our fellow Oregonians up in Manzanita and the rest of the north coast. It was pretty brutal up there, we send you our thoughts and prayers.
This weekend you will encounter all kinds of handcrafted wares at the Lithia Artisans Market. Sterling silver mounted jaspers and agates from throughout Oregon by silver-smith Dan Clark. Lamp-worked glass beads and pendants from Leah Fairbanks, mixed metal designs by Holly Gonnella, and much more in the category of jewelry. Jasmine Patten will be showing her up-cycled jackets and sweaters, plus a whole bunch of hand-warmers and hats. Perfect for this time of the year. The Hat People from Talent will have warm, wool hats to try on. Hemp clothing, wood work, leather work, photography, fine art, and much more will be on display this upcoming weekend at Ashland’s outdoor marketplace.

This week I am featuring images of our dear friend and fellow artisan Lavelle Foos. Lavelle has been at this adventure of the street artist for over 30 years. She is a gifted craftswoman who works in the old Navajo style of metal forging… tapping away with a jewelers hammer and an anvil. Her hands tell the story of years of work. Keeping the old traditions alive so they are not lost. Her work is available to the public most weekends during our season. She is a wonderful part of the our artisan family, full of wisdom and compassion. A gift.
This weekend we have a special musical guest who has not played with us in many years. Angus Richardson from the band “Brother” will be doing a solo gig with his original tunes, his voice, and his guitar. Really looking forward to this set Saturday afternoon from 2:00-4:00. Something new to experience. Isn’t that what it’s all about?
