Lithia Artisans Market has only one rain-out day all season, but Saturday is looking iffy. I will keep my eyes on the weather and call it one way or the other later this evening or early tomorrow. Sometimes you just need to roll out of bed on Saturday and look outside. We’ll know soon enough. If it turns out as windy and crummy as the forecasters predict we will cancel. Look at our facebook page for updates. Otherwise, 24 artisans have signed up to show this weekend. Clothing, photography, hats, all kinds of jewelry, leather belts, painted silk scarves, woodwork, and much more. This is officially the last weekend of the outdoor season for the market; however, if the weather looks good on November 1 and 2, we will open for the weekend. Our market takes a little break to refocus on production, then we open again for Christmas Fair at the Historic Ashland Armory on Thanksgiving weekend… Friday, November 28 through Sunday the 30th. We then head over to the Briscoe ArtWing in the old Briscoe Elementary school on Laurel and North Main in Ashland to finish up our year with three weekends of Holiday Market leading up to Christmas.
This weeks featured artisan is Gene Nawrocki. Gene has been making belts for over 3 decades. His belts are meant to last the wearer a lifetime. I own one of these belts and they are extremely durable and well made. He works in all kinds of embossing patterns and colors. These are especially great items if you are looking for a great gift for the man in your life. And guys… these belts are cool and really add a lot to a plain pair of Levi jeans. Gene comes in fairly regularly from just outside of Bend, Oregon. He lives in La Pine and is making the trip to the Rogue Valley to sell his wares on Calle Guanajuato as our featured artisan of the week. 10% OFF everything in his booth this weekend!
