Dan Clark, hands, jeweler, Lithia Artisans Market Ashland, Oregon

The hands of Dan Clark displaying one of his pendants at the Lithia Artisans Market Ashland, Oregon (LAMA).

This is the last weekend of the outdoor season at the Lithia Artisans Market. A handful of us die-hards are signed up to show this weekend, and the weather is looking suspect, but we will play it by feel and show up Saturday morning and see what the day brings. I hate to cancel a market, especially the last one of the season. So… the twenty or so artisans who come out will be holding down the fort. We also have a great lineup of music for the weekend (see schedule below).

This weekend we are featuring pottery by Lisa Eldredge, Oregon found stones set in silver by Dan Clark, wildlife photography by Dan Elster, upcycled clothing by Jasmine Patten, hand cut stone beads by Marcus Scott, hand painted silk by Marcella and Susan, and so much more. The image above is the handiwork of Dan Clark, a Lithia Artisans Market veteran and wonderfully gifted lapidary artist and silversmith.

This has been a wonderful season at the Lithia Artisans Market on Calle Guanajuato. This year we watched as the city’s largest public art piece went up during the month of June. “Las Calles de Guanajuato” is a huge mural that sits right in the heart of the market and announces our connection with our sister city, Guanajuato, Mexico.  We are honored to share space with this colorful, whimsical, art piece made by Loreta Ragnel Villasenor.

Thank you to all who came out and made this season a huge success. The musicians, the artisans, the restaurants, and the people who showed up and purchased hand crafted wares at the local artisans market. I also want to give a big shout out to Rachel Dials at Ashland Parks and Recreation for all her help in making the whole thing work. All of you make a huge difference. Making the world in which you wish to live. One person at a time. Every person is important.

If the market is cancelled due to weather I will make that announcement on our facebook page. Follow this link… facebook.com/LithiaArtisansMarket.  As of now we will be open tomorrow.

We have lots of great music scheduled.  I want to point out a band that is passing through called Maury Ave. I am personally really excited to check out this set of tunes. Maury Ave. is an energetic outlaw folk duo from Denver, Colorado. They will play a two hour set following the Brothers Reed tomorrow afternoon. See the official schedule below.
