We are 33 artisans strong this upcoming weekend at the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland. While the granddaddy of all pacific northwest art and craft festivals, the Oregon Country Fair, is in full swing up in the Willamette Valley, the Lithia Artisans Market in downtown Ashland is again loaded with talented artists hunkered down by Ashland Creek on Calle Guanajuato. This upcoming weekend you will find woodwork, jewelry, copper-smithed feathers, dream-catchers, fine art, carved stone beads, wildlife photography, mobiles, henna body art, natural fiber clothing, and much more.

Featured in the photo above is long time Lithia Artisan and wildlife photographer, Daniel Elster. Dan has a knack for catching wildlife in a way that truly humanizes the creatures. In his images elk appear to be pondering big questions, owls stare directly at the lens as if to say, “I’m here Dan, what’s going on brother?”. He seems to speak with his subjects on a telepathic level that relieves the stress of the situation. The environment is perfect to capture that moment only Dan can manifest. His photography is outstanding, his professionalism uncompromising. If you haven’t seen his booth lately, you are in for a treat. Lots of incredible new images this season. His art is on full display this weekend at the Lithia Artisans Market.

What a change in the weather. The weekend forecast is for highs in the 70’s and a chance of rain. The forests and gardens are lovin’ it. The fresh air is super invigorating, full of energy. It’s a wonderful time to wander the downtown Ashland scene and come by the artisans market to support local goodness. We are open every weekend, behind the plaza in downtown Ashland, Oregon.

Local singer-songwriters will grace our market all weekend. Truly an all-star lineup. Bekkah McAlvage is a country singer-songwriter with a great voice. The Brothers Reed are playing an early Sunday morning set, followed by Son Ravello in the afternoon. Daniel Sperry starts us off Saturday morning with his cello. What a chill weekend along Calle Guanajuato. If you aren’t up north at the Country Fair, join us for our mini fair in downtown Ashland. Every weekend is a gathering.
