Summer weather lingers with temperatures in the 90’s for the upcoming weekend. The market is full again with 40 artisans showing their handcrafted wares over the course of the two day event. We are so blessed with wonderful creations from the hands of the artists. Meander the alley-way behind the plaza, Calle Guanajuato, and purchase items directly from the maker. Clothing, jewelry, sculpted copper, smithed silver, pottery, woodwork, fine art, painted silk scarves, hand made soaps, and so much more await the patron of outdoor marketplaces. Open Saturday from 10-6 and Sunday from 11-5, Calle Guanajuato, in downtown Ashland, Oregon.

The market is happy to welcome back two artisans who haven’t been with us much this season, but who always bring their best. Bill Francis Pottery (photo above) has been a member of the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland (LAMA) for over ten years. Bill is also a member of Rogue Valley Growers and Crafters Market, Grants Pass Farmers Market, and Jacksonville Farmers Market. Likewise, Trace Taber participates in most of the local farmers markets with his hand carved wooden spoons. He is locally known as the Oregon Spoon Man. He makes spoons and spatulas out of locally harvested woods. When an orchard is cut down, Trace is there to harvest the old growth wood from apple, cherry, pear, walnut, etc.. His wooden utensils are essential in a fully functioning kitchen. Welcome back gentlemen to your market along the creek. We wish you well.
There is great music all weekend long. Saturday we go totally unplugged with two solo acoustic sets. Gene Burnett plays the morning and Sunny Erickson plays the afternoon. Sunday we plug back in for a set in the morning by Cole Cullen, accompanied by Jeff Stanley. Later that same day Jeff takes to the stage for a solo set. We are super stoked for a weekend of original tunes by some of the best players in the valley.
