37 artisans will be showing over the course of the weekend at the Lithia Artisans Market. Bold bright colors, hand wrought shapes, neatly draped garments, and fine art images will make up the ambiance of the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland. The skies may be filled with grey, but the little outdoor artists market along the creek will be full of color, texture and form. We persevere. That is what we do when faced with adversity, we persevere. Especially as artisans, often the obstacle in front of us becomes the tool for our next endeavor. Interesting how that works. It is a bit hard to imagine the silver lining in the smokey haze we face today, yet somehow that lining exists.
Featured in the photograph above is a brand new member to the market, Lindsay Evans. Lindsay makes fashionable wear for people on the move. Her skirts, tops, and vests are comfortable garments for every adventure. Something that sets her apart from her competition are the fabrics she uses that incorporate photos of Oregon. Sick Day Gear is her business name, a heart felt acknowledgement of “all those days spent calling in sick and going out to play”. She has been making clothing since she was a kid, and graduated from the Art Institute of Seattle with a degree in apparel design. She is a great new addition to our family of artisans.
