41 artisans are showing this upcoming weekend, June 22 and 23, at the Lithia Artisans Market in downtown Ashland, Oregon. It looks like a perfect weekend to come down by the creek and see what your local creators have been making in their studios around the southern Oregon region. The weather forecast is for temperatures in the lower 80s. Feeling pretty blessed as we head into the summer. Thankful gratitude!

OPEN SATURDAY 10-6 / SUNDAY 11-5

Happy Summer Solstice! A time to rejoice that we happen to reside on a planet that is the perfect distance from a sun that feeds us just the right amount of energy needed for life to thrive. It is the first days of summer; known as Litha in ancient times, or Midsummer more recently. Summer Solstice marks the longest day of the year. A Midsummer Night’s Dream is upon us. Wandering through the artisans market in Lithia Park in the Shakespearean town of Ashland, Oregon seems the logical thing to do. Don’t ya think?

Featured in the photo above is the hand blown glass work of Spencer Kendall. Spencer grew up with a glass blowing dad and has always lived in the world of glass making. Today he resides close to his roots in the Cave Junction area of southern Oregon. He continues in the family tradition of making highly functional, original, colorful glass art that catches sunlight perfectly. See his work and the work of another forty artisans who will have their wares on display this weekend at Ashland’s original outdoor market. Established in 1983.
