It is Summer Solstice weekend, also known as MidSummer throughout the lore of ancient traditions. The Lithia Artisans Market is in full swing with over 30 artisans showing this coming weekend. Jewelry abounds, as does pottery, hats, woodwork, clothing, fine art, chair massage, and much more. The newly repaved Calle Guanajuato is delightful. I often hear people humming “follow the yellow brick road” as they skip down the walkway. We just finished installing the shade cloth on the upper part of the walkway so the ambiance is complete. 31 years in the making, the Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland is the oldest continually running outdoor marketplace of its kind in southern Oregon. We are honored to call the walkway along Ashland Creek our home.
This weeks featured artist is Mabrie Ormes. Mabrie started her career in art as a jewelry artisan. She evolved that into photography, eventually morphing into a fine artist. Mabrie is inspired by nature. Her pieces are vibrant, colorful, and full of life. She has been pursuing art as a lifestyle for over 30 years. Her work can be seen hanging from the wall at the top of Calle Guanajuato. This week she is our featured artisan, so everything in her booth is 10% OFF! Come by and see her pieces hanging under the new shade construction along the Calle.
It is going to be a spectacular weekend to be out and about. The weather forecast couldn’t be more perfect. The highs are predicted to be in the mid-80’s. The musical lineup is eclectic. Super excited to welcome back to our stage Jacqui and Danny from the band, “Patchy Sanders”. For the full schedule, see below.
