Quality abounds at Lithia Artisans Market. There is so much talent in the Rogue Valley, and the best artisans of the region show their work along Ashland Creek, behind the plaza in downtown Ashland. 35 artists are participating this weekend at Ashland’s premiere outdoor marketplace. I consider it an honor to be part of this market which celebrates its 30th season this year.
Founded in 1983, the market has come a long way from its humble beginnings. We are now 100 members strong and growing. There are days on Calle Guanajuato when I look around at the booths on display, and listen to the music coming from the stage and say to myself, “this is world class stuff”. We should never take our wonderful market for granted. It is important to always support local art, craft, music, and food. If you haven’t been in awhile, now is a great time to support the local artisans market as we have lots of new artists set up right along side the veterans you have come to know and love. Many of our membership are back from Oregon Country Fair, so our market will be bustling with energy and amazing wares to peruse as you enjoy the downtown Ashland scene.
