It is the last weekend of the outdoor season at Lithia Artisans Market of Ashland (LAMA). Our final weekend on Calle Guanajuato coincides with Halloween and The Day of the Dead. 30 artisans will be showing this weekend. Many dressed for the occasion. Time honored craft will be on display as we remember those souls who came before us. Pottery, hand-cut stone beads, wooden spoons, cutting boards, and bowls, sculpted copper bowls, handmade soaps, bench made silver and stone jewelry, hand-painted signs, fine art, photography, native-American style drums, and so much more will be on display over the weekend. The weather looks good for Saturday and threatening on Sunday.
Halloween is upon us, things go bump in the night, the veil between this world and the next softens. Children dress as ghosts and goblins, myth comes to vivid life for a short moment. It is a time to honor loved ones who have come and gone… The Day of the Dead. Ashland Chamber of Commerce hosts a time honored tradition known as the Halloween Childrens Parade in downtown Ashland this Saturday, October 31. The parade starts at 2:30 pm. There is also a Monster Dash Race taking place in the park in the morning. The market will be open before, during and after the parade. Come by and show off your costume by taking a stroll through the market on your way to the park.

The Streetcar Named Inspire will be set up in Lithia Park as part of Lithia Artisans Market. This lively traveling art gallery will be decorated and ready to take a picture of you in your costume before or after the parade in downtown Ashland. The perfect backdrop to make you into a star this Halloween. The photo booth is free, but donations are encouraged. Melissa Orion is the curator of this wandering inspiration machine, and a fine artist in her own right.
